What is a cookie?

A cookie is a harmless text file that is stored in your browser when you visit almost any web page. The usefulness of the cookie is that the web is able to remember your visit when you navigate through that page. What kind of cookies are there?

What are your own and third-party cookies??

Your own cookies are those generated by the page you are visiting and those of third parties are those generated by external services or providers such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc.

What happens if I turn off cookies?

To understand the scope that can have cookies off we show some examples:

Can cookies be deleted?

Yes. Do not just delete, also block, in a general or particular way for a specific domain.
To remove cookies from a website you must go to the configuration of your browser and there you can search for those associated with the domain in question and proceed to its removal.

Cookies in Internet browsers in the browser options, select Privacy Settings in charge:

  3. use the slider to set the desired level settings (the highest block cookies altogether, the lowest allows you to store all cookies);

  1. Click “Advanced” and select the desired settings alone;
  2. to enter specific settings for your site, click on “Sites” and choose your own settings for the site;
  3. confirm the changes by clicking “OK”.

Mozilla Firefox Default Mozilla Firefox allow the storage of cookies. To change the settings as follows:

  1. click on the “Tools” menu (in other versions, click the “Firefox”) and select “Options”;
  2. then select the “Privacy” tab and select the desired settings;
  3. to enter specific settings for a particular service, please click on the “Exceptions” and choose your own settings for the site;
  4. confirm the changes by clicking “OK”.

Opera Opera browser default settings allow the storage of cookies. To change the settings as follows:

  1. click on “Preferences”, select “Advanced” and then “Cookies”;
  2. select the desired setting;
  3. to enter specific settings for your site, go to the selected web page, click the right mouse button, choose “Preferences for sites” and navigate to the “Cookies” and then enter the desired settings;
  4. confirm the changes by clicking “OK”.

Safari Safari’s default settings allow the storage of cookies. To change the settings as follows:

  1. in the “Safari” menu, select “Preferences”;
  2. Click the “Privacy”;
  3. select the desired setting;
  4. to enter specific settings for your site, click on “Details” and choose your own settings for the site.
